What is the practical difference?
An interactive flat panel combines a screen with touch input. A projector creates an image on a separate surface; touch requires an interactive projector, an interactive board or another compatible input system. A conventional TV is mainly a viewing device unless separate touch hardware is part of the setup.
“Interactive whiteboard” can refer to different technologies, including older projector-based boards. Ask what hardware and software a proposal actually contains rather than treating the label as a complete specification.
Compare the workflow, not the category slogan

A laser projector and an older lamp projector should not be assigned the same maintenance assumptions. Likewise, touch panels differ in software, ports and service arrangements.
When keeping a projector can make sense
If a room needs a very large shared image, mainly uses teacher-led presentation, and already has a suitable working projector installation, replacement may not be the first priority. Test the current system against the actual lesson requirements and identify the problem a purchase would solve.
Projector replacement can involve different work from panel installation. Obtain a site-specific assessment instead of assuming the existing bracket, power or cable route can be reused.
When an interactive panel deserves a pilot
Consider a pilot when teachers need to write directly over lesson content, manipulate on-screen objects or move between presentation and touch interaction frequently. What about a touchscreen TV?
Some products sold as touchscreen TVs may have substantial interactive capabilities. Do not reject or accept one based on the name. Compare touch support, annotation workflow, I/O, mounting requirements, service documentation and intended use. For ordinary video playback with no touch requirement, a conventional display and an existing computer may cover the workflow. For direct annotation, prove the complete input-and-save path.
Compare costs without inventing savings
Use actual quotes for hardware, installation, accessories, software and expected service. Record the period being compared and which recurring costs are known. Leave unknown costs blank and request them; do not turn missing values into zero.
